We take marriages seriously here at Risen Christ and Marriedlife Live is just one of the fun ways you can grow a great marriage.  Three times a year we have an evening of fun, food, and a new way to think about marriage.  Our evenings start with everything from a  Happy Hour, Decedent Desserts or just a time to mingle.  We’ve progressed to listening to some exquisite romantic crooning and laughed at playing the Newlywed Game.  And, we’ve heard some good points on relationship building from a trained counselor or a master teacher.  It is a night to get away, just the two of you (with about 30 or 40 new friends) and reconnect.
  • Relationships seem to be the center of a teen’s universe and we are intent on developing those relationships for our teens.  First and foremost, we want teens to grow in their relationship with Jesus.  More than anything, we want kids to know that Jesus loves them with an incredible love.  We don’t have our heads in the sand when it comes to how teens are effected by their relationships with each other.  Through creative programming, we build healthy relationships with other teens who can support and encourage each other.   We strive to equip parents to help their teen navigate through these years, all the while keeping those lines of communication open with their teen.  Finally, we want our kids to know that there are adults other than their parents who care about them.  Patty Flowerday, our Youth Minister, along with other adults, takes a special interest in the kids to help them grow strong in their faith in Jesus.

Wow!  Super!  Don’t want to leave!  Those are just some of the comments we’ve heard from kids about our state of the art environment called Grace Land.  Let your child take a stroll through Salvation Station, buy a book from Grace and Noble bookstore, watch the fish swim in the Zoo Room, get some snacks from Manna Mia’s Pizzeria, and sing Karaoke in Firehouse 3:16, our multi-media room.  Then come into Grace Land Park and watch your kid’s eye’s bulge.  There are games, toys, and things to make and color.  There is a tree house that becomes the focal point of what they learn.  And learning is fun.  Wacky characters greet the kids, a master story teller brings home a Bible story and then kids gather in groups to share their lives and pray for each other.  Grace Land is amazing?

As people leave Risen Christ, there is a sign which reads, “You are now entering the mission field.”  We believe that.  We don’t keep to ourselves at Risen Christ.  Through feeding the less fortunate, collecting canned goods, working at a hospice right next door, mission trips, and supporting an inner city ministry, we take our faith out into the world.  Jesus said, “Go and make disciples of all nations. . .” and we want to do just that.  We want the whole world to know of God’s love in Jesus.
