We believe that parents (not the church) are on the front lines for delivering the faith to their children and Foundations is our program to help with that. We offer a cycle of six classes divided by the age of their child in which trained professionals present the physical, emotional/educational and spiritual development of their child. We inform parents of what to expect in the various age levels and answer the question, “How can I help my child grow closer to Jesus at his or her specific age?” The age levels and goals are listed below;
1-4 years. These action-packed years of motion, curiosity, and constant learning are a continuous set of joys and challenges both for parents and the toddlers themselves. We look at the whole package – what your child is experiencing as they grow from babyhood into walking, talking tiny people - in their bodies, in their minds, and in their young and moldable little spirits.
5-7 years. Now we’ve hit the era when your child has gone from tot to student, takes their first bus ride, and is taking on reading, writing and arithmetic. We look again at child growth and what is going on for boys and girls physically and mentally. Our trained instructors can answer development and school-related questions, and we begin to see a more in-depth picture unfolding of your child’s spiritual needs where we can help you stay one step ahead!
8-10 years. While a well-child check can tell you whether your child is healthy and progressing on target, this little mini-glance at holistic development can tell you in more detail what the inner workings of your child’s mind and body are - what they can or can’t handle at this age – and why the results might surprise you. Even as they grow emotionally and physically, your child is also becoming more sophisticated in their spiritual understanding. We are happy to help prepare you to be the best parent you can be to your 8-10 year old son or daughter.
Teens. Led by our youth minister and a small team of well-trained professionals who love teens and who care about both the parents and the kids. We take the final three-part look at what kids are experiencing inside and out, since the influence of the culture around them is especially felt by teens resulting in decisions and choices that are harder and stakes that are higher in this day and age. This session includes all aspects of development and looks at other additional specifics such as cyber-bullying and current-day issues like cutting and drug-use.
